About

Nikki Catalano is a Sydney based graphic designer and illustrator. She began study in Object, Art and Design at Sydney College of the Arts where she completed with First Class Honors. There she developed her conceptual and creative skills. Nikki then decided to cross disciplines and went on to study a Bachelor of Digital Media at The College of Fine Arts.

Nikki’s work has been recognised both nationally and internationally and she has exhibited extensively including in Berlin and Paris. She has won awards along the way and been selected for honorable exhibitions such as Object Galleries ‘New Design’ showcasing the best new talents. She has also been recognised as Australia’s top 4o young designers in Monument Magazine as well as having been published for my work in Vogue Living and more recently Real Living.

Nikki is an avid learner of new things and a creative dynamite. She draws inspiration from everyday life; observing the world around her whether it be people; what they say or do, or in objects eg. patterns in nature or the beautifully designed interior of a space. There is a poetry she believes in living. Since school Nikki has always carried around a little diary to document these mini inspirations. The diary is used to dream, to write and to sketch ideas, to collect inspiring images and photos.

Drawing on her conceptual and creative skills drawn from her artistic background and coupled with her digital and design skills Nikki creates meaningful and beautiful work.
